Nutrition advice
Commercial foods and supplements:
Using the label information from your dog’s current food and other information from you about your dog’s lifestyle, I will calculate your dog’s nutritional requirements and advise you on how much you should be feeding to meet your dog’s daily calorie needs. This service is great for dogs who need to lose weight.
Some people choose this service when they want my advice on commercial dog foods and supplements to try that can help with health conditions and food intolerances. I have a wealth of experience to share and I’m not affiliated with any dog food company and so my advice is independent.
For out of town clients, this service includes a 15-minute consultation via Skype.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) feeding advice
When advice is sought for a dog with more special conditions, including applying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles to the dietary assessment, the price will include the time involved in understanding the dog’s condition (through a personal visit and vet records provided by the client) and researching ingredients.
Price on agreement but expect a consultation fee with written report (approx. $85). I prefer to have at least one follow-up consultation with each dietary advice client to discuss transition of the diet and to see personally how the dog is responding. With TCM, I do my best work when I am familiar with the dog and I am able to see and touch the dog.
NutriScan testing
For dogs with dietary intolerances, I offer NutriScan testing. I pass through all of the US dollar fees for the testing at-cost. I charge a $50 administration fee which includes postage of the kit to the United States and discussion of the results. If you are retaining me for NutriScan only, a consultation fee will also be charged.
